The Ocotillo Women’s League supports local charities, by donating money raised from our various community service projects, such as seasonal boutique items, gift baskets, and more.
Below are two of the groups that we regularly support.
If you know of a local charity in need, please contact Community Service at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Clothes Cabin assists nearly 2,000 families a year with free clothing and household linens. They provide steel-toed work boots to men who need them to get a job, as well as free laundry, storage and mailbox services for homeless clients.
All client services are provided by unpaid volunteers, contributing almost 1000 hours a month. They recycle or reuse everything possible; including the bags, boxes and bins you deliver your donation in. Anything they don’t use here goes to Mexico, Haiti, Guatemala or other areas of need.
Ryan’s House is a 12,500 square foot home, designed to deliver multiple adaptive modes of on-site care, embracing all children and their families as they navigate life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. They use both the philosophy and practice of pediatric palliative care with appropriate therapies and activities which include various therapy rooms, a playground, hydrotherapy pool and gardens. The house also includes 8 themed children’s bedrooms as well as 3 family suites.
Ryan’s House is the only organization of their kind in the Southwest, and one of two in the country. Ryan’s House services are provided at no cost to families.
